Jesse Anderson
Varsity Head Coach
Jesse Anderson is excited to take the helm as the new Head Baseball Coach at University High School, joining a vibrant community that values both academic and athletic excellence. With years of experience as both a player and a coach, Jesse has honed his understanding of the game through various levels of competition, including high school and collegiate play, as well as coaching at all levels of travel ball and five years of high school coaching. His journey in baseball has fueled his passion for developing young athletes and fostering a positive, competitive environment.
As Head Coach, Jesse is committed to helping each player reach their full potential, both on and off the field. He believes that baseball is not just about skills, but also about values such as teamwork, discipline, and resilience. Jesse’s approach emphasizes the importance of sportsmanship and respect, with a focus on building strong relationships through open communication. His dedication to the game and to his players ensures that the Trojan Baseball program will continue to thrive, with every athlete playing a keyrole in the team’s success.
Jacob Collins
Varsity Assistant Coach
A University High School alumnus and former four-year Varsity baseball player, is thrilled to return to his alma mater as Assistant Baseball Coach. Having coached the current senior class since their freshman year, Jacob is deeply invested in leading them to a winning season. His extensive background in baseball, from playing at Orange Coast College to coaching at both the high school and collegiate levels, has equipped him with the skills and knowledge to help the Trojan Baseball program achieve new milestones.
Jacob’s coaching style is adaptive, focusing on guided individual player development and maintaining structured, efficient practices. Jacob believes that each player contributes to the overall success of the program, and he is dedicated to fostering a team culture that emphasizes hard work, discipline, and mutual respect. As Assistant Coach, Jacob looks forward to working closely with players, parents, and the entire school community to build on the program’s recent success.
Matthew Macias
Varsity Assistant Coach
A 2017 graduate of Troy High School and former three-year varsity athlete in both football and baseball, Matthew is excited to join the University High School baseball program as Varsity Assistant Coach. Following his high school career, he played collegiate baseball at the Oregon Institute of Technology, where he helped the Owls achieve multiple winning seasons and a conference championship in 2023.
Currently an independent professional baseball player, Matthew most recently played for the Salem Senators of the Mavericks League in 2024, excelling at multiple positions, including first base, third base, and outfield.
Matthew is committed to guiding players in their development through structured practices and a team-first approach. He looks forward to contributing to the Trojan Baseball program's continued success and fostering a culture of discipline, hard work, and mutual respect.
Evan Cramer
Jr. Varsity/Froshmen Assistant Coach
A graduate of El Toro High School and former collegiate baseball player at La Sierra University, Evan is excited to join the University High School baseball program as the JV Head Coach. A standout player, he earned 1st Team All-Conference honors in the CalPac during his collegiate career.
With four years of experience coaching travel ball, Evan is passionate about developing players both on and off the field. His coaching philosophy emphasizes personal growth, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence. In his first year with the Trojans, Evan is eager to lead the JV team to a successful season and make a lasting impact on his players’ lives.
Jonathan "Jonny" Bellucci
Froshmen Coach
With 30 years of baseball experience, Jonny joins the University High School baseball program as the Freshman Coach. A four-year varsity player in high school and former member of the LA Angels scout team, Jonny continued his playing career at the junior college level before transitioning to coaching.
With two years of high school coaching experience, Jonny is dedicated to mentoring student-athletes and helping them develop the skills needed to advance to JV and Varsity. He is excited to share his knowledge and passion for the game, fostering a foundation of growth and success for the Trojan Baseball program.
